mimi in atlanta.

It's been a pretty crazy few weeks! Between all the loft remodeling and Peyton's teething, Brandon and I have been going on little sleep and short nerves. But in between all of this we had a chance to visit with Brandon's mom for the day! We didn't have the time to drive all the way to Birmingham so we met at a half way point, Atlanta. If you've never been to Atlanta, then you must! It really is a great city :) BUT it's also pretty nerve racking being there, roads go in every direction, people drive in every direction, and people have mastered the art of switching 6 lanes of traffic in just a few seconds. And to sum it all up, driving with Brandon through all of this is probably the most nerve racking, because if he doesn't know exactly where he is going then he is going to ask you every few seconds :)

Peyton is such a trooper! She slept through the entire trip, THANK GOD! It made her in a very good mood for Mimi and Joe :)

I wish the visit could have been longer but we'll take whatever we can get! We also found out that Peyton LOVES to stick her hand in the water and swish it around. And she LOVES whip cream. Really LOVES it.
We even had the chance to ride on the train, hehe.

And we saw this crazy ride you can pay to ride while at the mall. Well I don't really know if it's considered a ride but it's worth mentioning. It feels like we are running out of things to do for fun so we've come up with the idea to put a child in a blow up ball and have you run in it in a pool of water...kid you not. Really? I feel bad for Peyton as she gets bigger, these are her options. Well here's to being a hamster kiddo.

We are seriously thinking about making this at least a monthly thing so that Peyton can see her Mimi more :)

the vintage pearl.

I get alot of compliments on my necklace Brandon got me for my birthday. It's inscribed with Peyton's name on the front and her birthday on the back, it also has a little ruby hanging from it to symbolize her birthday month (july). I see them alot on celebrities and really wanted one for myself and was so happy to recieve one for my birthday :) You can get one at Isabelle Grace.

(obviously mine does not say Paloma but it's the same style :)

With that being said I found a website that makes me want another one, it's call The Vintage Pearl. Mine is mixed gold/silver, which is great because it's just what I wanted. But this website does their's in sterling silver. It's always nice to have options, right?

There are so many cute choices over there, LOTS of options. Take a looky...

I'm really thinking about getting my mom one for Mother's Day! Now that I think about it, she reads this regularly... so I hope you like it :)  AND as an added bonus for anybody interested, if you visit Erin's blog (the woman that creates these amazing little things) she has giveaways regularly and daily discounts that she provides.

Happy shopping :)

Mr. Craigslist

He called back. THANK GOD. And it's still available. Saturday my dad and I will be making a little trip to go see this. Isn't she a beaut?

I don't really know just yet if I'm going to leave her as is, or give her a new paint job. What do you think?

Lovely Thursday.

Well not really. It's raining...again. This state has had more rain in the past year than it has in decades. It can stop now, that's for sure. But with all the rain it has made my head start spinning with all these ideas, which is a good thing. Currently these things have been on my mind a lot lately and if I could swipe my credit card and not have to worry about a bill later, I would. But I do have to worry about that bill so instead I will post them to make myself feel better.

The things of late:

This Jaye Zebra black ottoman tray on sale at One King's Lane.

This Animal Parade Cupcake kit from Meri Meri.

This blue clutch from Eden's Wake Etsy shop

This book from Amazon by Cally Blackman

This dress from Asos

These glass jars from ZGallerie

And this photograph as a wall canvas from Peter Lik

Since I know there's no way I'm swiping my credit card for the above photograph I will just have to enjoy it this way. I am also waiting to hear back from Mr. Craigslist to see if they have the secretary desk that I really want. More to come on that if it's a go. Hope everyone else's Thursday is going as groovy as mine :)

perfectly fabulous handwriting.

Remember I have a thing for fonts, typography, and handwriting? Well looky what I came across.

This artist has one of my new favorite handwritings! You can find her (I actually don't know if it's a woman, just assumed, sorry) stuff here.

Her site is call Neither Snow and she also has an etsy shop where you can purchase handmade things with her calligraphy on it :)

I was introduced to her through Blueprint Bliss which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Im pretty new to the blogging world but LOVE that there are alot of other people who blog about not only things that they love but also about the little things in their life that make them human.

I think I might just need to order something and have her send one to me just so I can have my own copy of her handwriting. So talented.

wednesday.

If this doesn't make you smile on this rainy wednesday than I don't know what will :)

Hope you're all having a fabulous day!

chandeliers.

I have a love affair with chandeliers.

Especially the girly ones.

But what I really love, is when people put chandeliers in their kitchens. Home is where the heart is, right? Wrong. Home is where the food is. We all know that we spend the most time in the kitchen, so why not make it as glamorous as can be? I unfortunately rent my space, but if I owned it, you better believe there would be a sparkly chandelier hanging in my kitchen :)

The truth about relationships

....well at least my relationship.

Regardless what you believe in or how you live you life, this is how mine has turned out. I happen to live with my best friend, and we are NOT married. It doesn’t mean we won’t one day but at the moment we are just fine where we are at.

And this is what I have come to realize about it:

-You fall asleep at separate times, with one still in the living room, and it no longer bothers you.
-You pass out 15 minutes into a movie on the couch.
-You eat a lot of chicken and pasta sides for dinner
-Sometimes you don’t brush your hair or even care to wear make-up
-You wash your hair on a necessary basis, only
-You kiss your boyfriend as often as you want, knowing you have morning breath; but you don’t care.
-You can have sex whenever and wherever you want, and sometimes you do, and sometimes you don't
-You are no longer afraid to slip a bodily function in front of one another.
-Sometimes you give up on daily shaving in exchange for weekly or even perhaps, biweekly (especially during pregnancy:)
-Sweat pants and a T-shirt start looking cuter and cuter the longer you've been together
-Staying at home and watching movies is more appealing than a night on the town
-You can’t change a man that is already set in his ways and if he wants to get up at 5am to blend a protein shake, he’s going to.
-You’ve had your fair share of arguments about leaving the toilet seat up, leaving the cap off the toothpaste, making the bed, arguing if you even like your bed made, and the temperature at which your loft is set at

And even though none of this seems all that glamorous, I wouldn't trade it for anything.... I love living with my best friend.

murray's munchies.

When I got into work today there was a little red snack sitting in the middle of my desk. I know I don't have any secret admirers but the thought still crossed my mind. As I looked at it I read "Ring Ding", "devil's food cake stuffed with cream and tucked inside a dark chocolate shell". I was in HEAVEN. A small little devil's food cake? Uh oh, I smell trouble. And it did not disapoint. It got to 8:30am and I thought "No Sarah, that's to early." So I waited. And waited. It got to be 9:30am and again I thought, "Not yet Sarah, wait a little bit longer." It hit 9:45am and I said screw it. I think it took a total of 3 bites. I took the first and realized that it was truly a little piece of heaven and then just gobbled the rest down! Thank god they put the website on the wrapper so I could get some more of these wonderful little treats and thank you to Jill for surprising me with the little red bit of happiness. It definitely turned the not so good morning into a wonderful one!

Oh and these little things I'm talking about? They're by a company called Murray's and you can go on their website to buy them. The company is actually known for their cheese but also makes a line of munchies. Yummy.

If you want this little piece of heaven, go here.

FAB find!

People who really know me probably know by now that I have a style crush on LC. You can laugh all you want to but anytime I see what she is wearing I usually try to find a way to get a version of it for me. The girl is a genius when it comes to finding clothes that fit her body. She never looks out of place and always looks the part. And with her latest book release she has been on top of her game! Well rewind to last year when Miss Conrad showed up to an event in a belted yellow dress. One of my favorites! The color is not something you would typically find and it' not over the top but it just stays in my mind.

I won't even go on about the gorgeous $500+ Miu Miu sandals she's wearing but just focus on the dress. Without much luck on a look-a-like I kind of just stuck the picture in the "I'll keep it in mind" folder and went on with my life. Until last night. While I was browsing through Kohl's looking for an easter dress for Peyton, I came across the LC Lauren Conrad line she has for the store. And look what little surprise I found...

AND it was on sale for $40. You better believe I threw that little baby in my cart along with an adorable outfit for Peyton and proceeded as fast as I could to the check out. You could go on about the similarities of the 2 dresses! So happy with my above purchase! If you would like one for yourself just head over to Kohl's or go online, she actully has a pretty cute line :)

just because.

I would have to say I'm a pretty traditional girl when it comes to weddings. I'm 99.99% sure that whenever  I get married I will be in a white dress. But, the wedding below is beautiful with all the colors and details. The bride is the photographer's twin sister and if you notice closely you will see why this wedding makes me laugh. Actually I will tell you why, look at the man officiating the cermony, better yet, look at the book he is using. :)

Really I LOVE this wedding for the pictures of the bride and groom. You can't deny that this couple probably has quite a few laughs on a daily basis together. Love them.

To finish off the night, you would have a hula-off as well, right? I'm not sure I'm ready to not have that fairy-tale wedding but I give this couple mad props because it looks like they had one amazing party to celebrate their big day.

And who knows, maybe I will have the person officiating my wedding use Dr. Suess as well :)
